The Brief

For many years Sutton and East Surrey Water operated as a regulated water supply business within its geographic area.

After a strategic review, which focused on the deregulation of the B2B market, the shareholders decided to use this opportunity to develop a new B2B retail business. They also wanted to give greater emphasis to SESWS, the company’s insurance and maintenance arm.

The Solution

BradleyDyerRaw was involved early on in the brand development process. Senior members of the design team joined a branding workshop with the SESW consultant, lead team and staff, and communications agency Create 51.

The outcome of the workshop was a shortlist of names, look and feel, colours, concepts and suggestions of how the brand hierarchy may work with the three areas of business.

The Results

A suite of brand guidelines for each area of the business was designed and implemented. We were also involved in the design and fit out of the reception area, whose curved reception desk, glass doors with SESW graphics, curved graphics wall and seven-screen TV bank created real impact. SESW was delighted with the result, which delivered its new identity with aplomb.
