To keep fans engaged with the Cartoon Network's Teen Titans Go! in an off-channel campaign, and sustain interest during a 15-month production break between the series.
We created a bespoke mini-series based on a talent contest (a Got Talent parody) so we could showcase the funny and charismatic franchise characters, use existing beloved content and create an interactive framework with which to engage the audience.
We devised the structure for the campaign, following the pattern of a classic talent show contest (with a Teen Titans twist).
We planned the content for each episode: which characters would feature; and how they would be introduced, interact with each other and behave. The look and feel for the talent show 'set' was established and animation storyboards created for each episode.
Working closely with our animation partners, we designed and created nine bespoke episodes, which featured selected highlights from existing Teen Titans Go! content.
An introduction was created along with animation of the villain judges, character reactions and the spinning wheel that decided which Teen Titan performed next.
The episodes were viewed online, via a microsite that we designed and built, with live voting capability so that viewers could vote for their favourite Teen Titan performer at the end of each weekly episode.
